Poem- I am the transmission

The Evolver community is so rich in connection and language. A couple of words from another thread began to spiral this piece into motion.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am the transmission-
signal
sigh and sound of relief
I am the Gnosis
Knossos
Knows this
the brain of the earth’s body
the skeletal structure
and bone as brain
flesh as memory
the trauma held in the muscle
stored in the gut
under the skin

I am the euphoria
serotonin-dendrite-nerve-synapse
tree relief
chipped bark
sun under
sun-like skin
cracked map opulence
of curled-paint-warp
drowned dreaming

I am the boy holding the gun
appendage prosthesis
exploded in violence-
finger under fire
heart loaded lead
in radical misunderstanding
radical hatred of self within

I am the human life
the wormhole from babe to elder
“Your time and mine accelerating toward apocalypse”
shuttling in and out of life
passing through eye of the womb
a sparrow through a mead hall and back into the night
the warp and woof
hiding selkie skin beneath the rafters

waking to sleeping
life in a series of soul connection
that calls for the evolve
self-awareness of is-ness
manifest universe
made in bitter brown star, flesh sweet
rod and cone
apple your eye
retina burned
imprinted data stream

I am the holographic universe
stored in your mind, stored in your feet
everything contained in small through every other thing
I am the path through the buddleia airport
his butterfly bush and the dakini with child
under the chimes, blood and sickles
a necklace of heads
a crescent moon
your ignorance and mine
slaughtered before the dissolution

“dreaming back through life…”
intertwined Caduceus
snakes licking with tongue
two-pronged made one
we are everything and nothing
every thought-cell-memory
every sweet seed begun

special request

please will you be my muse? you could be right after Neem Karoli on my list.

My muses: The Great Tao, Rudra/Shiva, Nature, Neem Karoli.....

Some very special and

Some very special and precious names evoked there...

Muses... everyone on this site is already mine. Interesting, just went to an experimental poetry reading tonight. Wonderful work, cerebral and yet also distanced. I'm glad and thankful to have this space to express this work which is different than what I hear my peers express. With this piece, I was thinking of Rimbaud's idea of "I is another".

It so refreshing to have

It so refreshing to have someone use poetry as a tool to address the change and transformation that we are all experiencing. I think it's also about time that poetry get turned on its head a little bit again and actually attempts to tackle these big issues again.

Pathfinder, Thanks, you just

Pathfinder,

Thanks, you just helped me make a connection. I sometimes worry about my writing not being political enough, but I just realized that the expression of spirituality is in itself a political act. Of course, everything is a political act, but rather than thinking of spirituality as an aversion to politics (sometimes people treat it this way), it really is the act of shifting power structure away from entrenched institutions and back to people and communities. Hmm, starting to think of other ways to fuse the two...

Peace,
Robin
