Art imitating Life? Life imitating Art? – how about Life will be Art. This is the emerging creative frontier in which new ways of living are being artfully designed. We are beginning to develop a selective disregard for tradition in favour of what makes sense. To abandon the dysfunction and monotony of established societal rolls and choosing instead to sculpt, paint, draft, weave and carve out lives of our own.

An era of creative freedom has begun that will make the renaissance look like preschool. Conventional methods are often so stymied and backwards that attempting anything else is encouraged and almost guaranteed to yield an improvement. So now is a great time for fearless experimentation. Its exactly the kind of risk-play that will help light our way forward as well as provide you with a lifetime of tuition-free education. Ahhh, Fresssh!

An important part of this ‘why-the-heck-not?’ attitude is to nurture the creative endeavours of others. When you encounter a fellow experimenter be kind. Give him or her the benefit of the doubt and give them room for their experiment to take place. The next time someone sings you a ditty when you were expecting an eight-and-a-half by eleven resumé, laser printed on white and set in nine point Helvetica for god’s sake give them a ring will you?

There is perhaps only one caveat to this new found freedom and I’m sure you know the feeling… our tendency to become overwhelmed when faced with infinite possibilities. I have come to find that the antidote to this is simply to do anything; do what comes to you first, do what feels right and do it now. Don’t give yourself much time to think it over and don’t worry too much about what other people think.

Welcome to a golden age of creativity, your timing is perfect.

It is my belief that life IS

It is my belief that life IS art, we are all being designed to be more sleek and beautiful with each new generation, much in the way that we continually make our vehicles more sleek and sophisticated. I enjoyed this! :)

“An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come.”-Victor Hugo

Age of intuition

Yeah, this thought was inspired by another article I was writing in response to my recent experiences at university. I decided to leave school because it started to feel a bit like a factory aimed at molding me into an economically viable citizen.

The more I thought about the ways that this was the wrong path for me, the more excited I became about the alternative – shaping a life based on my own values and feeling free to take that risk.

I think its really about following our intuitions. We all know when something 'feels right'. Developing our ability to follow our intuitions seems like a great way to tackle the messes we have gotten ourselves into using intellect alone. Einstein said "No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it." Hmm... feels right to me!

Forget modern art... We are

Forget modern art... We are all Present Artists and we don't even know it!

Whoa

Thanks for sharing this, Parkdale. Gave me one of the 'synchronicity chills' because I have been thinking and writing about this very idea lately. How Art is changing and life is changing... and the two are not so distinguishable anymore. Our culture is Pop Culture. Confounding as that is as a brand new paradigm, it's also sort of beautiful, and to be expected in a world of exponentially increasing human knowledge.

So thanks man this is a great post! :)

Poke QUESTION to all:
How are you guys weaving art in/of your life? I'm curious to know what "techniques" or choices are out there. How are folks "consciously evolving?"

cheers

love this

Very refreshing. First thing that came to mind for me was the thought of ecovillages & a flash-back to the 'new ways of living' that arose in the late 60's & 70's. Back to the land, back to the tribe & all. We are all indigenous peoples. Craft traditions, ritual, life-ways arising out of the land... This, to me, is life-as-art. Or what comes to mind anyway.

Blessings brothers, sisters!

Namaste all.

Creativity is my Religion!!!

Creativity in all of its pursuits is at the essence core of my human experience here on earth, follow your bliss...don't become a tax $lave to be molded by egotist figures in authoritarian positions, take risks and allow your beautiful infinite soul to shine through the bleakness of the decieving political media landscape....Namaste!!!
