FDA recalls avandia
February 20, 2010
The drug avandia is being recalled by the FDA because they have linked it to 300+ heart attacks & many other heart failure cases. Just in the 3rd quarter of 2009 this drug was linked to over 300 deaths. Avandia was marketed as a drug for diabetics but these studies show that it is in fact harmful to the heart. This is a prime example of overly eager pharmicuetical manufacturers & their lobbyist pals in the FDA clearing obstacles any way possible so that they can get their new drugs on the market. Americans have become the number 1 guinea pigs on the planet for these giant drug companies & when people die from they’re experiments all they do is say sorry & recall the drug. You know a company screwed up badly when they recall something, because they wouldn’t do it if they weren’t worried about worse losses from lawsuits then they’d get from simply pulling the drug from the market. United States citizens need to wake up. There was a time when prescription drugs were not advertised on television as often as cars, a time when you went to the doctor if you were ill & your doctor would decide what was best for you. These days people see a drug on t.v. and ask their doctors about it…. People are not the ones that went to medical school, since when is it a good idea for people that are not educated on the effects of these drugs to be asking for them? Its ironic that a drug to treat diabetes ( a condition that can cause heart problems) causes heart attacks. Well you know I hate to constantly preach it but if people just ate healthier they wouldn’t need to take drugs that can potentially kill them.
