The United States problem with prosperity

The United States & all other countries connected to the global economy seem to be on a quest for false prosperity. The federal reserve continues to print bills faster than most can comprehend, these bills are expected to help us solve all of our problems, but indeed seem to be the root cause of them. Our governments are expected to make the best descisions for the citizens within them, but are instead promoting the same activities that got us into this mess in the first place, the exact same philosophies with a new stylish look. Those who have benefited the most from the current economical structure are intent on milking the situation as long as possible & they use the power of their money to maintain this capatalistic status quo of excess and waste. Its easy to persuade people to continue living in this game of corporate shoots and ladders, all they have to do is lure people in with money, especially in a world in which we don’t grow or hunt our own food. Most people are not even mentally equipped to grow vegetable gardens or emotionally equipped enough to hunt their own food. The survival methods of past humans seem to have been forgotten or have become a simple footnote as to how we became the way we are. Its not as if we are all being tricked, we are being forced to live a certain way whether we agree with it or not. Banks are a great example. When money is the most important part of survival people need a safe place to keep theirs. Banks hold on to our money for us, but in the meantime they use it to give people loans & to cover expenses. This pyramid banking scheme creates a scary fact, the fact that there is nowhere near enough money to cover an event in which everyone withdrawls their money at once. Still people trust these institutions without much question to protect their funds. The fact that people are afraid to hold on to their money for fears of losing it and their life should alone convince us that money is evil. There really is no way to keep money safe other than in your home or in a bank & so we are forced to use banks. The most disgusting part is that when these banks get too excessive or make mistakes and lose our money the federal government gives them more of our money in the form of taxes. Then you have massive corporations such as retail chains & grocery stores who use their billions of dollars to set up stores everywhere and make sure they have the cheapest prices around, effectively running small merchants across the world out of business & creating more lower-middle class workers while the corporations stacks up billions in profits (in the case of food, I urge everyone to support local farmers & eat organic). I don’t neccessarily think its some kind of grand conspiriacy, or at least not a very organized one. I actually think its just the result of the type of economical ideas we have accepted. All forms of government that rely on money result in vastly more poor than rich just to slightly different degrees whether they be liberal/socialist, conservative/freemarket, communist, ect. It seems to be human nature at this point to accumulate as much money as possible & I know its human nature to protect it once you have it. I guess in the type of world we’ve created it is only human nature to step on feet of others. When will all this change? When will human consciousness as a whole reach the point that we realize we’ve made mistakes & need to make changes? I’ve made many important and drastic changes in my life that are meant to help myself, the planet, and everything on it & I know many others who have done so too, but at the same time there seems to be nearly as many united against any sort of change to their fairy tale existence. These people will deny facts, become belligerant, lie, and literally become extreme in an effort to stop or curb social change. Its much easier to unite around negative things than positive. There is always going to be those stuck in the past remaining blissfully ignorant. It is our challenge to rise up against the power structure and stand up against things we don’t agree with. Those who fear positive social change need to realize that most of this change needs to be within our minds & not through the sciences and technologies that helped lead us to where we are. Now that humanity has such control over this planet, so much knowledge about our surroundings, and such infinite technological potential I believe we should revert to something more simple. I mean whats wrong with just knowing that we could, just knowing whats possible, instead of flexing the full capacity of our technology. I’ve come to the point where I think the best & most effective method of change would be for people to quit their jobs, begin growing food, boycott large corporations, and really try to make this work on a community level first. The day that happens will be the day we realize life can be fun again. Life doesn’t have to be about work and money. As a whole we could make the descision to stop the stresses and bring back the enjoyable side of life again. Just think of that, enjoyment coming from non-material means. At least then the only stress in life would be survival and food, the stuff all other living things are concerned with. Our species has become one big egomaniac. If we could drop our superior attitudes & stop trying to dominate the planet down to every plant I think we’d find ourselves in a much better world.
