1. Some wine is called wine,
another is called love,
another yet is called god.
But in truth
there is just one wine:
One.One.One.
2. Some say:
He is drunken with wine.
Others say:
He is drunken with love.
Very few say:
He drank the nectar
from the Lotus Feet of The Lord.
Does it matter,
what they say?
I am drunk: that matters!
3. "This Wine"
Again
you are breaking a glass.
You try to proof,
that there is no wine.
Yet this wine
flows into another glass.
One day
you will drink it.
Then you will cease
to be glass.
4. "Wine" in the tradition of the Sufi means the intoxication with the holy
spirit of the divine. Just remember the part in the bible, where the apostles
are accused of being "drunk with wine", while in truth they are filled with
the spirit "not from this world". Yet the symptoms obviously are of the
same kind: they could be confused by the worldly eye with an ordinary
intoxication.
Yes, we will dance, we will shout, we will foam at the mouth, we will roll
on the floor, we will talk the nonsense of tongues, yet we will not have
wasted a single coin in the wine dealer's parlor or the harlot's hovel.
5. Stop to be glass. Do not identify with the mortal form. Know, that any
amount of mortal forms destroyed, does not proof the spirit wrong a
single time.
What is immortal will flow into another glass, into another form.
It is your fate, inevitable, to be spirit: the only glass, worthy to be broken
is the glass of your ego, the crystallized form of your inherited social
conditioning.
6. Praised be the saints and prophets, who received this knowledge and
turned themselves into a channel of distribution.
7. Let only love remain: love, the sweetest wine among all wines!
