relativelyLocal is Nicole Jaquis - Multimedia Artist & Educator from Brooklyn, NY; currently living in India, where most recently the past six months she has been running her start-up organization Ascetics with Cameras. While on her fifth trip to India, totaling over 24 months (and counting), she is also studying yoga, meditation and Hindu philosophy alongside various Juna Akhara sanyasin.

Professionally, she is committed to bridging the digital divide through media literacy and the empowerment of others to utilize multimedia technologies to explore and share personal stories and ideas, to move beyond merely seeing differences and towards acknowledging commonalities, through a holistic, experiential, each-one-teach-one, global awareness approach towards education, in the pursuit of transcending both geographical and cultural boundaries, so we can stop thinking of ourselves as competitors and start becoming collaborators in the world we share.
