Many Flags - One World

The recent catastrophic chain of events that happend in Japan is a strong call from Mother Earth (Pacha Mama) to guide us into a better understanding of how we treat our planet.

Unfortunately, the call created a heavy toll in human lives. (Some yoga masters refer to pain and suffering as a great teacher.)

At home, it was overwhelming to see on the news, the hardship these Japanese people were goin through. Even countries with no diplamtic relations with Japan stepped forward to send help. It was incredible to observe the great sense of solidarity generated from the international community.

If we can get together in times of hardship, why don’t we use the same urgency to heal our planet? After all it is the only one we have.

All the events that occured in Japan will have repercussions worldwide. The pollution generated from the nuclear reactors won’t just stay on japanese land. It has already traveled through air, water, soil, and they will absorb and retain the radition for a vey long time.

I am looking at the events of the past week with an optimistic view. The entire planet and especially nations that already use atomic energy need to review and reconsider their energy agendas seriously. Time has come to raise our voices and ask the governments of the world to stop using atomic energy now.

Fortunately there are so many alternatives for the production of clean, safe energy free of heavy pollutants like uranium and plutonium.

The events helped to uncover a corrupt system which didn’t care about anything but their profit. Knowing there were many problems at the nuclear reactors, the regulators looked the other way and allowed the tragedy to occur in Japan.

We share at home many flags from different nations. My wife was born in Japan, I was born in Colombia and our kid was born here in New York.

We hope from the bottom of our hearts that Japanese people will recover from these terrible events, and we hope to heal our planet for a better future.

Finally, we must become One and stay strong and healthy or else, be many and weak facing extintion from the face of earth.
