Wake Up, Project

I recently got into a conversation with a new friend about hidden messages in Disney cartoons. He showed me a few clips from the documentary, "The Arrivals". While camping over the weekend with some close friends, the subject came up again and I mentioned the doc. After making the choice to share it with others, I then made the choice to watch the whole film. I was surprised at the winding road that I found this documentary to be.

This film is broken down into 48 mini sections and 3 or 4 main parts. The first part talks about how we, as Americans, are products of mind control on televison. The second talks more about that and then goes into talking about how our government is and always has been driven by evil in its purest form. In the last part of the film, you find yourself being referred to as Muslim. I wasn't expecting that turn, but I went with it.
I am almost finished watching the whole documentary. I had to take a break and so I decided to write about it for a little bit. Let me just say that some of the topics discussed are indeed hard to swallow. One of my friends watched one or two of the mini-sections yesterday, at my suggestion, and he shrugged it off by saying it was funny. It's definitely easier to laugh and call it bullshit than to let yourself think that some of this stuff is actually going on in the world around you. What’s funny to me, however, is that this documentarian is talking about the use of mind control while basically using mind control to get his point across by showing images and the repetition of words on the screen. He is pointing out the fact that we are susceptible to it and then using it to reach us. He’s not dumb. He knows that the people he is trying to reach are the ones glued to their televisions. That’s why this isn’t presented in book form. I actually do lie to read and I'm not sure if I'd have felt the same impact without the images.

I definitely have to do some more of my own research (which is suggested by the film-maker(s) at the very beginning) before I totally agree with some of these theories. I must say though, that it's easy to agree with most of it.

Do I now think that television is bad?
I had already decided to instill a television-free lifestyle for my four-month-old son before he was even born. This film makes following through with that to its fullest much, much easier.

Do I now think that pop stars are given songs written by people with hidden agendas to deliver hidden or not-so-hidden messages?
Um...yeah.

Do I think that those same are reposnible for the deaths of free-thinking musicians, artists and political leaders?
Well, let's see... Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, Malcom X. Hell, I'm surprised that Michale Moore is still alive.

Do I now think that the majoirty of the people with all of the money and power worship Satan?
It's a stretch...but not a huge one.

Am I going to adopt a new religion that I know very little about because I was somewhat moved by a documentary?
No. BUT, I think that there are a LOT of things said in this documentary that if you have the open mind (and stomach) for it, it’s worth watching.
You might not convert to Islam, but you might think twice before you stick your kid in front of the T.V. when you could be sending them out to play.

I'd love to hear the input of any fellow Evolvers who've seen it.

And as a VERY important side-note....as I was consistantly logged on to the Wake Up Project website since yesterday afternoon, watching a mini-section here and there when I had some time to spare (and staying up very late last night to get a good chunk of it watched) I couldn't help but think, "If this stuff is true, then should I really be watching this from my home computer?"
Although I giggled at the thought, "Oooh, conspiracy!" I can't help but marvel at the fac that I accidentally logged off of the site as I went to write this blog and wouldn't you know something?
An "unspecified error" is keeping me from getting back on.
Coincidence?
I think NOTHING is.
