Cognitive Processes and the Suppression of Sound Scientific Ideas by J. Sacherman 1997-

American and British history is riddled with examples of valid research and inventions which have been suppressed and derogated by the conventional science community. This has been of great cost to society and to individual scientists. Rather than furthering the pursuit of new scientific frontiers, the structure of British and American scientific institutions leads to conformity and furthers consensus-seeking. Scientists are generally like other people when it comes to the biases and self-justifications that cause them to make bad decisions and evade the truth. Some topics in science are 'taboo' subjects. Two examples are the field of psychic phenomenon and the field of new energy devices such as cold fusion. Journals, books and internet sites exist for those scientists who want an alternative to conformist scientific venues.

Although some scientific ideas are truely unfounded, the author of this paper will explore instances when valuable scientific ideas were unfairly reviled and rejected. This author will discuss the cognitive processes, including cognitive dissonance, conformity, and various biases which contribute to such suppression.

Examples from history of suppression in the sciences-
A legacy of cognitive biases and faulty judgments exists. It typifies the history of American and British scientific inquiry and research.

One of the earliest examples with which nearly everyone is familiar occurred in the early seventeenth Century. Galileo was branded as a heretic and sent to prison for declaring that the earth traveled around the sun (Manning 1996).....continued -to read more click the link below:

great

Thank you, brother/sister?

Good news is we might be considered heretics, but at least we're not being put on house arrest for saying matter revolves around mind not the other way around!

Is 'suppression' too harsh a word?

It should be easy at least, to employ the word 'compartmentalization'. As it was roughly recycled in the Reagan era. Unfortunately for the government, this compartmentalizing prevents certain agencies from even communicating from other internal agencies. Who in the scientific-public can therefore observe or conclude objectively? In such an case, could science violate laws of men? The public looses out through an unfathomable untouchability. What then is there for dear science to observe? Certainly nothing of free energy if it actually predates some new fangled weapon system. I wonder. In this light, may i suggestively echo that Galileo has in some unmentionable form returned? We can ask: "where is the science"? Yet even brave men will dare not go there! Perhaps a brave women, a Joan of Arch, perhaps, as a scholar, as a woman with a true heart, has already begun some sort legal action:

Yet strategies with law must necessarily employ complex wits and care. Perhaps white gloves will help. What do i know? I am not officially educated. Let it all be.

house arrest yet?

Ha, let truth win the day! Let conscience dare to speak!

Theories and Assumptions on Electrical Energy

Hey everyone, fantastic to see everyones different opinions on this fascinating topic, its really great. I will be back later to pick up on certain points people have commented on, for now let me leave you with this fantastic presentation on the work of Tesla passed onto me from Thomas Brown, who said "I think one of the top researchers Peter Lindemann, this video will open your eyes to how Tesla's technology really works and how we must shift our entire paradigm to understand and utilise it "

Note that Lindemann points out that the "theory" of what electricity is, is based on the agreed assumption that the theory works if the electron is real and part of this theory, but we have to consider the implications of solution (free) zp energy/ the "casimir effect", could we soon be rewriting our theories on what electricity actually is and are we to re learn and rewrite the laws of physics which again are just based on assumed agreements on theories and have we misunderstood what Tesla understood?

The Cost of Free Energy

We have to realize that in both the Educational Institutions and the latter scientific community itself .. that so much of it comes down to mere competition for funding and acclamation .. no different than the social dichotomies associated with arts/artists politicians and or businessmen.

Like any species we are simply in competition to the degree we are not cooperating.

How many ways are there to cut hair and / or cloth ... as if endless fashion statements really capture the moment .. always chasing the wind .. now of course it is all down to data bytes and the nano-nothingness of infinitesimallity.

The chase being better than the catch .. in the sense that we compete for competition's sake in the name of any / all sophistication.

Whole libraries of whole cultures have been burned in such progressive name.

The science of life is always naturally seen whenever we are not being distracted by our own concoctions.

Thank you
