TakIng Back Our Food (Immediate Action Requested)

Hi :-) I don't often forward emails but I felt that this time it's important that people know what is going on with our right to grow, share, trade and sell the food we grow ourselves. Gardening, specifically growing edible things has become a passion of mine. Sharing and swapping/trading what I grow is a natural extension of that passion. This is a fundamental right that we should not trifle with.
Our increasing self-sufficiency depends on our right to grow, share, buy and sell locally grown food especially from small gardens in a cooperative and collaborative way without having to be legally obligated to bear the expense and burden of fees and paperwork that a true business would have to. Such fees and paperwork would surely limit the availability of locally grown food and make it risky for us to share the abundance of our own gardens in a cooperative way.
Please consider looking into the issues and writing your State Senators to tell them how you feel about your rights as they relate to this bill, Bill S510. The link that Courtney provides makes it easy to send an email to the correct decision-maker. Let's take back our food.

Subject: Bill S510 to outlaw growing food & organic farming
Hi Community,
As you may have heard, the Bill S510, which was previously not yet up to senate, rather quickly was moved to the senate floor THIS WEEK. If passed, it would not only outlaw organic farming, but it would outlaw growing your own food and sharing it with others. This is major.
If you're unfamiliar, please read this page.

We trumped the attempt at mandated H1N1 vaccines... we can trump another insane mandate again.
Joy and Passion,

hmm
This bill sound ridiculous. What problems do we have with people growing their own food that need to be fixed? None that I know of, so why try and fix something that isn't broken? I sure hope this bill does not pass.
