Perhaps "separation of capital & capitol" would be the modern context. Aye? By this i mean separate profit from politicians, for their whole life. A lifet-long fixed wage cap for all elected politicians, whose assets become public information for life, even after their leaving office. Close the so called 'revolving doors' for ever. Such that any persons who become elected politicians or high level bureaucrats, will cap their income at some reasonable middle class norm, not upper middle class levels either.... So that politicians will finally have an incentive to work for the average citizen out there.

Is not fascism the modern "church'? Was not 'Christianity' morphed into the official , materialistic church by a dying emperor of ancient Rome? Who wanted his name and 'honor' made into a long lasting fetish? After he murdered so many spiritual people who rallied with an idea called "good news"? (Or the 'Gospel' in other words.) Was not religion made firmly materialistic for yet, thousands of years? The primordial dumbing down of spiritual awakening, preserved for yet another age or two. (Poor humans, oh well).

Jesus wrote in the sand only and never did he write any book(s) at all! I think that was a spiritual act, in itself. (Make no fetishes available for devious intents).
