An Alchemical Metaphor

One of the things that has taken on significance for me lately is the notion of connectivity. I have been reorienting my perspective to allow the new information about energy and vibration and the old information about consciousness and connectivity become the basis of my day to day reality. All my life I have made my own consciousness the experimental grounds for testing and finding out the validity of beliefs, opinions, and information. And connectivity is very, very interesting and exciting.

Recently a kind of "connect-the-dots" thing happened with a few bits of information, and a picture formed that I thought I'd share and see if any of you resonate with it. It's a picture of the flow of consciousness as an alchemical process, weaving in a few tidbits and whatnot that seem to be connected parallels. And please remember, this is a vision, not a scientific inquiry.

Look at the world we live in today and what do you notice within consciousness? What I notice is a deep polarization emerging, essentially between love and fear. Fear cuts us off from Life, Love connects us to Life. Fear feels bad, love feels good. Who am I? Who am I? There are many moments in a day these days where I am reminded of that question, because I have a highly contrasting environment asking me to make a choice. Yes, a choice.

Most people nowadays seem to be facing the same choice, though they may not word it as I have. The story may have their attention, but the underlying process is essentially the same. Love or fear? And so we see our populations beginning to polarize. Now, to draw on a quote from the bible, just for the sake of illustrating a point because it does it well in this case, if "God is Love", then in our situation, Love represents the vibratory nature of the highest form. Now in alchemy, that is what gold represents. And in order to draw gold out of the prima materia, you need to separate it out from the rest of the matter, and draw it together to get your shiny stuff.

Within the context of consciousness, fear represents an energetic force like heat or something that excites the consciousness in a certain way. It can cause people to succumb to itself, which tells a story of low energy and vibratory quality, or it can repulse those of higher energy and vibratory qualities. As the polarity in the world right now seems so fundamental between love and fear, this would seem to indicate the final stages of the alchemical work. Even something like H1N1, if everything is connected, seems to be a kind of vibratory catalyst very related to fear, an enzyme that breaks down within the living field of consciousness those fear-based vibrations that are susceptible to the action of that particular enzyme. This could be expanded on much further, I'm sure.

And what about the introduction of other catalysts, like the Indigo kids, for example? What about the arrival of distinctly new conscious perspectives that are oriented entirely differently than "the norm" - that is, those people currently labeled with "conditions" like autism, Asperger's, and so forth? I'm quite certain that there's nothing "wrong" with any of those people at all, we just haven't learned what they've come to share with us.

Then there's a part in a Hopi prophecy I read about the next age being a "Golden Age". Now if everything that has been pieced together in this little vision has any validity, then gold is the next stage.

One aspect that seems to me to be important, then, is a getting together of the lovers. I think that by getting together, we increase our collective energy and create a stronger attractor for those who are caught in a dynamic tension with their fear. You see, before us, before our consciousness are fields of information, an entire world actually. Within that collective information field, there are a great many conflicts. It is my assertion that we evolvers, transitionaries, whatever you'd like to call yourself, have a responsibility to resolve the conflicts in the information field, in the same fashion as we would in ourselves, in the same way an alchemist would as s/he draws gold out of base metal. As the conflicts are resolved, the remaining information will naturally begin to form an integrated, connected, and strong platform (gold) that we can step upon with confidence, and look clearly about us before launching ourselves into the rest of the universe.
