The Transitionaries

Hi everyone. These are some big days, aren't they? I don't know anyone who's getting away unscathed in the deep stir that's happening within the depths of our collective sub/un-conscious-ness. I suppose I don't know everyone though. But I'm connected. That's got to count for something.

I'd like to talk about us, the "evolvers", the folks probing around at the frontiers of consciousness, wherever consciousness is expanding, becoming aware of itself, expanding, evolving. The term "transitionaries" seems like another fun way (along with "evolver") to describe what this very diverse cross-section of the people population globally represent: those who are willing to step out and be the change, both internally within the Self and externally in the World. The deepening contrast in the world right now is literally pushing us into Being who we really came here to be. These are the times we were born for, aren't they?

I'm itching for some action. I'm ready to start creating a shared vision, a new story, a beautiful world. There's so much talk going on, so much justification for holding a position that is contrary to the tenets of society as presented by the many forms of media. But when is the real change going to start? When are we going to get together? How are we going to get together?

We face some huge challenges, even amongst ourselves as "evolvers", as people who have scratched the surface a little deeper than most. Today, while walking and conversing with a friend about self-awareness and action, she honed in on what she felt was a strong egoic desire or want in me for praise and adoration. She then proceeded to describe exactly what my desire was and why I wanted it, calling in astrological information to back up what was starting to sound like an accusation. And in doing so, she completely missed the point I was expressing, and it had nothing to do with what she had described. I recognize this as "her stuff", but it was such an illuminating moment, considering that this "friend" who wants to change the world and all the good-intentioned things that we're supposed to want if we're good, spiritual people, couldn't carry a conversation about that subject without making it a personal affair. What are thousands or millions of us going to do, now that it's our time to step up?

Well, I'd like to offer some suggestions to get the ball rolling. Likely nothing new, I guess I'm just adding momentum and reinforcement to valid tools and processes that have been around since this whole trip began. Take them or leave them, it's up to you. I'm interested in sharing what I've learned, in learning what you've learned, and getting on with the business of transitioning ourselves on this great river of Life so that we are going with the flow. It's going to take more than one for that to happen. From what I have gathered, this means consciously addressing the fact of the distortion that ego identification has on our awareness and perception, of both ourselves and the world we are connected to. There are all kinds of tools and techniques for becoming aware of and addressing this, but it remains a fact that would benefit from conscious attention. Getting together and connectivity tend to benefit from fewer boundaries that conflict with each other.

And just to get it out in the open right away, of course I'm not perfect, of course I don't have "the answer". I have a piece of the puzzle though. So do each of us. Putting the pieces together will create a picture...that's what I'm interested in. I imagine perfection is being in the flow, connected with every part of your living experience. As for an individual being "perfect", please...who are we using as the standard for perfection currently? How long will s/he remain perfect? Etc, etc. It's a confused notion and a damaging way to use the word when it is used against another's identity.

How and what language we use is something else that would benefit from conscious attention. I use "life-affirming" more than "love" because of the amount of emotional charge attached to the latter, and because of the watering down effect that the new age use of the term has had. For people who don't have a direct connection to "love", telling someone they "just need to love or get into a loving state" is bypassing the steps that need to be taken to realize that state. Self-awareness is a journey beyond the words.

What I'm attempting to illustrate in that example is that in language today, the attention of many people, including those in our "conscious community", stops at the words. As a language-conscious person, I've come to view language as a tool for directing the attention of consciousness to something beyond the words. That is, when it is used most effectively. What lies beyond the chatter is the profound, and as a conscious being, I find profundity exhilarating. You?

Lastly...on the subject of "getting together". Myself, I see it as an eventuality, but does anyone else? Are we going to start a new society? Are a million of us one day going to populate a "living city", a highly complex, technologically advanced, yet completely integrated natural system functioning within the larger planetary system, creating beauty and functionality within this integrated environment, and with the shared vision of channeling this connection with spirit that we all have, sending ourselves across the universe? Or is that just "my thing"?

2012 isn't the end of time. It's the end of history. It's when we all reclaim our lives for ourselves, and our time becomes Art instead of money. Creativity is the new currency.
