2012: How To Accelerate Your Brain
The whole human race is changing. We are living longer, and aging more slowly. The whole demographic of our world is being altered. When you think that only a few generations ago, a lifetime usually ended at forty, this is remarkable.
The rate at which we age and deteriorate may be slowing exponentially. Looking and feeling amazing at an age most people used to think of as retirement age has become a modern phenomenon. The old assumptions about what is possible are being eroded.
What we are seeing are the results of improved diet, healthcare, and new mental attitudes which are literally accelerating the development of the human race.
I've found four areas which bring the maximum benefit to your brain with minimum risk:
1. Diet & Nutrition
You are what you eat. Moreover, in many cases, quite literally, your diet is dramatically affecting your brain. The link between nutrition and a healthy and well balanced body is clear. In the same way, what you put into your body will influence what your brain is fed.
Action Plan:
Increase lean protein intake. Reduce simple carbohydrate intake. Eat more wholefoods. Eat less packaged and processed foods. Eat more essential fatty acids as those found in whole eggs and fish.
2. Exercise
Exercise builds and conditions the brain. We now understand better than ever how exercise affects the brain. We know exactly which physical exercises can actually help make us smarter. The old saying about a healthy mind in a healthy body is spot on. The better your body functions, the better you will be able to think.
Action Plan:
Build strength daily. Focus on 30-45 minutes a day of strength building excercises and reduce cardio workouts to brisk walks or swims. Strength training gives you a metabolic spike for an hour after a workout because your body is trying hard to help your muscles recover. This spike may also create the optimal condition physiologically for neural networks to regenerate themselves while cortisol (a degenerative hormone) release is inhibited.
3. Mental Exercise
Like a muscle, the brain grows and develops when trained. New brain training technologies are changing the way we see and exercise our brains. By working your brain, and giving it new tests, you can increase your overall capacity for thought.
Basic Concept:
Like any other muscle the brain will start to slow down if it is not exercised. Play games, learn languages, challenge yourself. Novelty is the key. The brain responds best to novel and challenging experiences. There is no better way to do that that to learn a new language. Why not make 2012 the year you learn to speak Spanish or Chinese?
4. Supplements
You now have access to what is no less than a box of miracles. There are many naturally occurring and high potency supplements which have been proven to improve your brain in amazing ways. These supplements can give you the extra mental edge that you need. In addition, supplements can help maintain and increase that edge in years to come.
Action Plan:
A good food-based multivitamin is a good place to start but its not enough. You have to make sure that you also take a supplement specifically designed for brain health. Excelerol is a single pill that I developed several years ago. I believe excelerol is a one pill solution to my brain power requirements. I developed the product initially because I was tired of taking hand-fulls of underpowered pills in order to get the right nutrients to my brain. I wanted to take just one pill. It took me nearly five years to develop it. With a new liquid suspension technology and a partner at a major pharmaceutical company excelreol has now become a reality.

Questioning
You have missed the most important part of the brains overall health. Currently we society suffers of a mental illness. We are denying the emptiness, denying the fear. To avoid facing these fears, to avoid facing our true selves the mind must occupy itself with whatever method is at hand, learning a new language, exercising, watching tv, doing drugs, sex. It is all to escape the fear being alone with the self in silence to face death which is the loss of the ego's identity. For to be alone with one's self in silence, without thought the ego slowly dies away and your so called identity that you cling melts away into the nothingness and the eternal, into Love. You will no longer wear the mask everyone expects you to, you will be reborn, the mask you wear will no longer be necessary. To truely accelerate the mind, you meditate, you question all the pills that society expects you to sallow, you reject all you have ever been told and only accept the truths that you find to be self evident. Psychedellics can also be used as a tool to break through the mask, to initiate the questioning. All that you have wrote is truthful yes but is secondary if you are empty inside. You must question everything, seek truth and health will follow. If you seek health, you avoid truth, as by seeking health you try to avoid death, you are being driven by the fear of death. Accept this fear of death and seek truth, health will follow.
Move your feet to the beat, sing your song loudly, and shine your light bright,
Brian
Very well put. ;) Everyone
Very well put. ;)
Everyone should meditate. In the end, the individual can decide for itself whether meditation is benefiting it or not. But first, this practice needs to be tested as an everyday ritual, among others that perhaps are not influencing one's life in a constructive way.
As Brian stated (I must emphasize): "You must question everything, seek truth".
Hey Shaahin
Agree with you one hundred percent :-) Exercise people. It does wonders for confidence and self-esteem, and usually spills over into other areas of your life.
