The Secret Steve Jobs Didn’t Know
What are the limits of Genius and how can we surpass them? Steve Jobs, the much loved Apple founder who innovated and inspired generations of people from around the world knew a lot about products, branding, and building a company. However as Apple became a Goliath amongst publicly held companies is it possible that Jobs could have used nootropics to have been even smarter and possibly solve even his greatest problems?
As we age, our brains shrink as neurons die. Nootropics help protect the brain and keep the brain working properly. From the work of researchers like Norman Doige author of The Brain That Changes Everything, we now know that the brain is plastic and elastic meaning that it can change and recover at any time.
Cognitive enhancement using nootropics has been a feature of military research for the last 50 years. Most recently at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, scientists have worked on nutraceutical and pharmaceutical agents that improve the alertness (and therefore battlefield performance) of soldiers suffering severe sleep deprivation. Elite military forces have been widely known for using nootropics to attain super-soldier status.
I wonder how far a genius like Jobs could have gone under nootropics. What if he had created a voluntary program for everyone at Apple to take nootropics. Although products like Adderall and Provigil (clinically proven cognitive enhancers) have been secretly used since inception by silicon valley and tech geniuses, it has been kept under the cover.
The next generation of nootropics and cognitive enhancers may not be pharmaceutical and could very well be possible without any prescriptions. Currently categorized as supplements, ingredients that block cortisol (a debilitating hormone for brain function) like phosphitidyl serine and L-Alpha Glycerylphosphorylcholine could hold the key.
I have spent the last 15 years developing products that I believe will accelerate intelligence in some way. In the last two years I have seen greater advancements in natural medicines for cognative enhancement than in the entire time I have been doing this work.
I was saddened by the death of Steve Jobs but it made me wonder. What could have been the results if next generation smart pills like provigil or adderall or even the OTC nutraceutical excelerol ( http://www.excelerol.com ) could have been incorporated into Job’s and his colleague's routines. What would have been the result if Jobs was put on a closely monitored “limitless-like” nootropics regime from the inception of Apple? We may never know about Jobs. But somewhere out there is the next Steve Jobs and if he or she may be open enough to explore nootropics then the next level of genius might just surprise us all.
