Salt Spring Island Farm and Barter Network

In the interests of creating a sustainable local economy and a secure food system, I have started the Salt Spring Island Farm and Barter Network.

Currently in the form of an email list, this network aims to help people weather the financial crisis and protect the environment from further exploitation by offering ways to meet needs through cooperation and direct local exchange.

I am interested in eventually exporing a way to use the local Salt Spring currency to subsidise an organic farming-based economy.
