Crazy Ramblings: a smashing new tiny essay the product of not getting enough sleep for days and drinking very much coffee to balance it out!

I have just had a philosophical insight. What many of our major religions are all trying to tell us, in rather different ways, can be put into so many words: There exists one singular soul in the universe, and it is yours. It is also mine. As reincarnation must obviously work outside the boundaries of time as well as space, this one soul is continuously being incarnated as each and every conscious being who has ever existed, and will ever exist until the end of time. Your soul is passing through an astronomical amount of vessels. Right "now", it is in yours, and mine.

Consequently, if you do violence unto me, you are in the most literal sense conceivable doing violence unto yourself. Sooner or later - most likely later relative to your stream of consciousness - you will be at the receiving end of literally the exact same situation. This is karma.

I would like to point out that even if my literal belief in the above is just the trippy ramblings of some crazy person, it is the flawlessly ideal mental image of the Golden Rule. That is so cool.

And now the news...
