The Fabian Guerra Jr. Benefit show was one of the most amazing musical/ emotional experiences of my life. I cried for the first time ever on stage. This happened during a duet between our vocalists Dana Okon and Kelly Kruse, the tune was written after our ex manager and dear friend Fabian was killed in a car accident in June. It felt really good to be that honest in front of a crowd of people coming together to raise money for a fallen friends family. This was the first Forty Piece Choir performance in almost two years when we said farewell at the Chicago House of Blues after a ten year journey together. The entire show we where smiling and dancing with each other on stage. I’d like to thank Rudy Schlacher US Music’s CEO for donating a Washburn bass as a raffle prize. We raised $2700 for the family.
We back lined my WT1205 (mono bridge), D210XST8 and D212XLT8. No matter how often I hear other bassists play through my rig it never gets old. I really believe the perfect cab combination is mixing a XST with an XLT cab. Remember the XLT’s put out the mids which cut through the mix, while the XST’s bring out a nice deep thunderous hit. Eden is offering a rebate for gear purchased between July 1st and Aug 31st. The details are on the home page at eden-electronics.com.
Until next week
