Thomas Merton, an ordained monk, spoke of the "interminable beauty" of human beings. Merton focused not on christian dogma, rather, he explored transcendant spiritual aspects of christianity. He described "microsigns" of a christian love that illustrates "acts" without awareness and how it was recieved without "'special" or detailed awareness. Merton described an unconditional awareness without walls while demanding a constantly purefied love for one's fellow beings which protected and sheltered their contemplation of love.
The characteristic core of this philosophy fostered empathy which forms basis for an incomparably deep understanding of another's suffering. Further, another's inate uniqueness was validated while recognizing the "innumerable universes" that one's fellow being carried within him(her).
