IcerocketI've always thought it'd be really nice to have a chat feature connected to this site, so I created a simple, unofficial evolver chat room for anyone that wants to use it. It could be really beneficial and fun to have a platform for immediate group communication. Synchlink is a nice idea, but it's kinda limited. It'd be rad if instant messaging (group and private) could be set up on evolver. For now, we can play around with this, or whatever else someone wants to create.
I used this site, chatzy.com, to set one up. It's nothing fancy, but it works, I'm not responsible for it, and you don't have to download anything or have a password or account to get on. If someone wants to start an IRC channel or explore some other alternative, by all means, set it up. They say the room may shut down if there is a 14 day absence of use. If it ends up catching on, I could re-post the link periodically to have it available

Cool, I'll make a note that we'd like this feature when we hopefully have money for a full Evolver upgrade, which may be a bit down the road.
Of course, you could help make this happen by joining the Evolver Social Movement for a few bucks a month. :)

Thanks so much for doing this! I've been trying to stir up interest for a text-based chat group on Evolver for a couple of months now. But Skype was the only service I could think of using. SyncLink seems cool, but I'm creeped out by automatic video chat.
I suggest that we arrange at least a weekly time for Evolvers to chat. SynchLink Magic Hours are Sundays 2PM-4PM EST, Wednesdays 9PM-11PM EST. Would that work for Chatzy?
