Free Jon Sloan and End the Attacks on Sacred Plants

While I may not believe that the ingestion of certain plants is necessary to spiritual development, I do recognize that many use plants to aid them on their quest for self-improvement and enlightenment. Obviously, the Gum-mint cannot have this and poor Jon is probably among many to feel the heel of American tyranny in his face with no just cause.
Whereas my own financial situation doesn't allow me to donate significantly, I will do all I can to pull for him spiritually.

This activity seems to be forever increasing by the fda, some friends of mine told me that their organic food growing community was destroyed a year ago in the usa for not having a permit to grow organic food! I'm sure that these agendas are to do with the codex trade commission which has biotech and pharmaceuticals pushing to profit from patented seeds, promote genetically modified foods and to try to destroy herbs and organic food growing and distribution world wide. I think it is an important question because the authorities propaganda there for banning them was that tourists had harmed themselves after taking them. THE main propaganda was a woman had fallen ('flown'?) off a bridge after taking magic mushrooms and been killed.
In the 1960s the propaganda was Hippies staring in the sun till they went blind after dropping LSD, and trying to stop moving traffic. and so this propaganda is used as the reason WHY...for the 'war on drugs'.
So YOUR argument seems to be of the same ilk--you cited two kids who were harmed after ingesting Kat? This is the very same style of propaganda that keeps the war on drugs rolling on.

One thing I have heard for quite a while from people writing about the 'new resurrgence' of psychedelic studies with human subjects is that often in their praises about the possibilities of psychedelics they often usually mention Tim Leary, and accuse him of ruining the psychedelic dream in the 1960s because--they claim--he would not behave and keep quiet about psychedelics (as Huxley and other proposed. Keeping knowledge of them elitist). I may not have agreed with all of what Leary said, but I loved how he wanted EVERYONE to know about the magic of psychedelic experience, and encouraged the youth to Turn On, Tune In, and Drop Out. When you look at how this world is going that saying makes even MORE sense than it did then!

PRE-'war on drugs' you could buy opium! Now as you know opium can also be abused as it was usually in the Opium dens of China, but used intelligently it is a great natural easer of pain. So my point is that it should be up to the adult what she or he chooses to ingest freely. This goes for heroin and all the drugs. The war on drugs has caused FAR more danger and death than would be the case if people could freely take what they want. From there whatever they chose to take could be regulated.

I dont know that much about K2. Perosnally I would not take it. I just had a quick Google about an experience someone had with it reported at Erowid, and the person doesn't seem to have had a bad experience. So I don't really know about the info your referring to. I'm not saying I disbelieve you, just admit I am not aware.

The point is, rather than venting all your venom at Jon Sloan, and treating him as scapegoat, see instead what this war on drugs has done and is doing. For example why WOULD kids choose this K2? Well errrm could it because they have demonized cannabis, and in doing so made it very cool. In fact dont you think this war on drugs has made the very ACTIVITY of 'doing drugs' cool with the youth? The drugs prohibited become the 'forbidden fruit', and as any fairy tale or myth shows. such a fruit becomes inevitablly desirable when is is forbidden.
Take cannabis---When I began smoking it (I have not toked now for 3 years) many years back you could get SO many varieities from all over the world--a MENU. But as the so-called war on drugs took hold, and these drugs became more and more into the hands of the gangsters, in order to make profits they started mixing the cannabis and weed with all kinds of crap. That and the need to make more and more profits and the law pushed the market onto super strngth Skunk. THAt is all I used to smoke because you could be assured it was not--usually mixed--because you saw the bud, and it was very potent.
But as you know this unnatural potency took its toll on those who would toke all the time.
So what I am getting at is see the real culprits in this crap--its not people like Sloan but the MAIN movers behind the 'war on drugs'. it was this 'war' which made dealers 'purify' opium into the afr more addictive heroin, and coca, into cocaine, and crack, etc.

It is a massive radical evolution needed to end this war on drugs, and first thing is freedom!
