Great Waves Readers Intent

Great Waves Readers is created to engage one another in the fundamental awareness and preparation for a changing world through reading aloud from the book, Great Waves of Change: Navigating the Difficult Times Ahead, authored by Marshall Vian Summers. Great Waves Readers is intended to initiate book-readings in communities across the globe by offering a weekly online forum and guidelines for participation. It is intended to promote an experience of the book as a phenomenon and as a focal for gathering together.

Preface to Readership

Great Waves Readers is devoted to discovering the seminal teaching of Great Waves of Change: Navigating the Difficult Times Ahead. Here is a gathering place to encounter a book with the magnitude to prepare the human family for a future that will demand its evolution.

"It is time for humanity to grow up, to unite and become strong. It is time for humanity to cease to be a weak and divided steward of a beautiful planet and to become strong and united for the preservation of the world and for the preservation of human freedom and sovereignty here."
-The Great Waves of Change

Great Waves Readers relies upon readers of The Great Waves of Change living across the globe to uphold the value of listening at the level of the heart, which is a departure from habitual and cultural habits of filtering new information. The purpose of this forum is to promote a creative engagement by allowing the material to stimulate questions, self-discovery, a deeper reflection on experience and a broader view of the future.

"This is the time when the great calling will sound for you. This is the time when your greater gifts will come forward."
-The Great Waves of Change

The space for discovery is created and valued by readers of The Great Waves of Change because it is a fundamental exercise in collaboration and learning. The ideal of community is therefore enacted in the process of reading and listening and is not held in suspense of action.

Great Waves Readers encourages:

  • Honesty to dig for questions rather than argue or produce instant answers
  • Courage to become aware of patterns of reaction that deny exploration
  • Reading slowly, taking time to breath, and repeating lines from the book
  • Awe

"Humanity has great promise to become a free and advancing nation in the Universe. But to achieve this, it must face the results of its own misuse of the world. It must unite. It must become strong, and it must care for this world so that its self-sufficiency can be maintained into the future."

-The Great Waves of Change

Seattle Update

Our inaugural Seattle meeting, Introduction & Public meeting on The Great Waves of Change, was held today at the Phinney Neighborhood Center. Thank you to all who came. We actually accomplished the very real goal of making connections between individuals who are responding to this message living in Seattle. Some of us had long awaited this meeting. See you next week at the book signing. -Thomas
