“The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do bad things, but because of those who look on and do nothing.” – Albert Einstein

Picture this. A black man waiting near the subway with his two young daughters sees a white man fall into the path of an oncoming train. The man knows there is not enough time to move the victim to safety, so he jumps onto the track, pushes the victim between the rails, and covers the victim’s body with his own while the train passes over them with only a couple of inches to spare.

What action would you have taken had you been the bystander?

I don’t know what I would have done. But, I do believe that each of us has the potential to perform acts of heroism!

And—the world is full of opportunities that call to us to birth our Inner Hero.

A key component of knowing when and how to birth our Inner Hero, according to Dr. Philip Zimbardo, founder of the Heroic Imagination Project, is to form a network of support so people have the resources to bring their heroic impulses to life. You can read more about how Dr. Zimbardo is creating a network by visiting www.heroicimagination.org

If you're looking to birth your Inner Hero, another option is to focus on growing your spirituality--especially in the company of other spiritual "seekers." I am collaborating with life coach Karen Latvala to offer a women's spirituality group.which will meet March 1st at 7 p.m. mountain time.
The group will include a short meditation, sharing our journeys, and talking about visions for a better world. It is non-denominational and is about our personal experiences. There is no fee, but love donations are welcomed. If there is interest, we will continue monthly.
If you would like to register, you can contact me at 719-942-3229 (or coach@tamaraherl.com) or Karen at 719-942-4758 (Karen@consciouslifequest.com).
If neither of these resources call to you, I encourage you to find a network SOMEWHERE that will inspire and support you as you birth your Inner Hero!

I had a similar experience.

I had a similar experience. I had just gotten off the L-train late at night in the bad neighborhood where I lived. It was me and one other dude, who staggered out of the last car and careened from one post to the next. Part of me said, eyes ahead, ignore him and get home - the other part of me knew something was about to happen. His hat fell off and he kicked it on to the tracks. I was about to shout "leave it man", but he stooped too far and over he went onto the tracks. I turned and ran to give him a hand. as I looked another train was coming down the tracks and he started to panic. I was hoping he didn't stumble on to the 3rd rail. But I got his hand and pulled him up before the train got to the station. To this day I don't know what put me there, or why I stayed.

I appreciate your efforts to

I appreciate your efforts to bring women's groups together. This is such important work at this time. As the Dalai Lama said "The world will be saved by the western woman". You are helping to bring this about.
