Last month as part of our Solstice Celebration, we made time for meditation. I had set an intention to receive Guidance about the coming year.

As I sat in the richness of the deep silence, I saw myself standing at a portal looking out. A thought came to me: Changes will be happening very quickly. Stand at the portal and look out. At first, I wasn't sure what that meant. However, I've learned that my Guidance often comes in bits and pieces, so I wasn't too concerned.

The next part of the celebration involved decorating a glass candle container to represent the Wisdom we received during the meditation. I felt drawn to depict the top of the glass container as the portal opening, and to picture myself looking into the Light of the candle.

The final part of our ceremony involved walking a spiral path towards a lit candle, where each person's intentions were illuminated. As I sat for a few moments in the center of the Spiral, it came to me that, rather than looking into the Light, it would be far more powerful for me to Stand at the Portal and BE THE LIGHT!

I suppose like in 2011 I will continue my journey into understanding the true nature of self, on day at at time and when the going gets rough, one moment at a time.

I would like to add a few comments accept them or reject them as wish. Ours is an individual adventure what works for me may not work for you.

First, it appears meditation has three functions or sort of rewards, gifts. The most important is enlightenment. The second insight and thirdly emotional composure, a harmonious center.

It appears you have been given an insight as that porthole. That opening is very important it is the entrance into a new awareness of spirit. It is referenced in most religions. In Buddhism it is the gate-less-gate. In the Christian faith the white gate. In Nagualism the link. It is also referenced in Islam as the stone from which Muhammad ascended to heaven. I have "seen" it as a very large rock. To open it all you need to do is take some action toward spirituality as prayer, meditation of any number of seekings for knowledge. Knowledge being metaphysical experiences, like experiencing the porthole for instance. At death you will enter the gate and be carried off to your next life into the light. There appears to be some safe guards in using the gate while you are alive so do not fear it. There maybe suffering along the way however in time its purpose may become clear to you.

To improve the effectiveness of the link it is advised to meditate or stop the internal dialog in some way. This will unclutter the channel and remove impurities from it so that it function more clearly. It is also advised to improve ones character so that it is used properly as light and not as darkness.

My take on your experience is that you are an awakened being. Congratulations, your in! :)

I'd say it this way "realize you are part of the light". (To realize, is experiential, it means to make real)
