The Center That Is Everywhere

Over the past 4 weeks something great has been built in Utah. It's a community owned, easily transported living art piece called The Center That is Everywhere - or just The Center. This piece was originally conceived of by myself and Marconious as two separate projects. Then one night we met at a party and realized that our separate projects had very similar goals, values and missions.

We both saught to create a shade structure that would be simple, strong and useful to our whole community. We were both working in circle form, creating a structure with entrances on all sides. Our similarities were enough that we decided to join our projects together - become the first members of The Center's community. Now, just a few weeks later, we have a standing steel structure. It takes a minimum of 3 people to set up and a simple trailer to haul.

We envision The Center filled with many aspects of our community, silk performers working from the 16 ft high support bars, visual and audio art, DJ's and live workshops. We also have a strong alternate energy component called the Alembic placed in the Center - this is an educational piece of our community - teaching about balanced energy use - not purely solar, wind, bio-fuels or natural gas, but a balanced combination.

The Center will for sure travel to Burning Man - we plan to take it a few other places over the next year as well.
