Over the years I've read many an occult text.

Be it Yoga, Tantra, Chaos Magick, Shamanism, The Tao, books on Gnostic Christianity, Enochian Magick, Hermeticism...on and on and on.

I've travelled the whole world, I've embraced and learned and, to an extent, adopted almost every religion out there, Catholicism, Hindu, Buddhism, Islam, Kabbalah, Shamanism...(I've stayed with Shamanism up till now).

Each and every major religion out there may be wrapped in dogma, it may be warped in human sensibilities but underlying each one of them are the same basic tenets of human decency.

Treat others as you'd want them to treat you.

Love one another unconditionally.

Cherish your partner.

Respect your parents.

As above, so below. As within, so without.

These basic instructions permeate all of human culture. Even in the most archaic and primitive of cultures have at the centre of their morals instructions approaching the statements I've made above. Something else that the more esoteric and mystical religions tell us is that there is NO difference between the outer and inner worlds. There is a perceived separation, perceived boundaries, but the truth is we are all one with the Universe.

I'm too experienced to subscribe to one religion, too far travelled, I've covered too many miles and heard too many stories from the mouths and heart of people of different cultures to subscribe to Christianity any more. I've taken, picked, sifted through and chosen my own personal religion made up of what I believe is something approaching the truth at the heart of existence. I also believe that the material world is nothing approaching what the majority of mankind believes it is. It is merely an offshoot of our perception.

I don't deal in absolutes any more. I work as a writer I deal in myth, my trade is the whimsical conjuration of fantasy. It is my own personal experience that the world is made up of abstractions, of ideas that become real and sentient. Our world is the sum of the perceptions of each and every person on this planet. Our world is shaped by their perceptions, and in turn our world can be changed by altering the perceptions of every person on the planet.

People speak of the 2012 earth changes. They speak of Apocalypse. Look in the dictionary...another word for apocalypse is revelation.

I don't believe the world is going to end on December 21st 2012. Has anyone heard of Information Theory?

The amount of information is quantified in a mathematical theory. Say we take the time period between the first human being inventing the Axe till the renaissance. That is one information period. It took say, 4000 years. The time it took mankind to double that amount of information again only took 1500 years. The next leap was only 500 years and so on. Mankind has taken exponential leaps in advancement and increases in volume of information in the world. we now stand at a point where the amount of information is doubling every nine to twelve months. We are a society at boiling point. As we approach the new age, around the very end of 2012, I believe that the world may reach a point where the information we are assimilating is doubling at a rate of every second or every 10th of a second. That amount of information doubling will transform our society from one of liquid into one of steam. And when that happens...all bets are off. I believe our collective consciousness will be all encompassing at that point. Our entire species will begin to become aligned. We may for the first time in history begin to function as a harmonious society.

We can only hope.

Cheers

Tom.

Prologue Sun and Moon

Prologue

Sun and Moon embrace
as one
for brief eternity
all mystery within

Black and White
create gradation
radiate kinetic energy
We can achieve
believe, begin, begin, begin

Gardeners, planting flowers,
planting food,
planting souls in
nurturing soil

Healers
perceiving wounds
to be sewn
relieving loneliness
revealing pain
held in, denied
twisting ardent toil

Teachers
admiring their wards
finding with them
questions, keys and doors;
realizing history is only destiny
when explorations cease;
invitations from space and time
come complete
with choices

A choir of voices
from softest spark
to fervent blaze
Troops of effervescent players
Symphonies,
drums at dawn
Inspiration and instruction
carried forth through song and stage
vibrant murals painting onward age to age
Taking up the challenge of the tale
that twists, turns, meanders
providing kaleidoscopic opportunity
ever to begin again

sounds like...

Have you read the Singularity Is Near by Raymond Kurzweil?

thanks Tom. i resonate

thanks Tom. i resonate strongly with your post. i've tried on the hats of many religions and esoteric schools of thought and i too feel there isn't one specific hat that fits perfectly, but i find value in wearing them all from time to time.

i like the oberservation of the telescopic nature of evoltution since the big bang. it took some 14 billion of years or so for the formation of our galaxy since the big bang. 5 billion years ago was the formation of our solar system. it was hundreds of millions of years ago when single cellular organisms appeared on earth. 65 million years ago dinasours died out and mamals took over. humans first appeared 1.3 million years ago. 12,000 years ago is the agricultural revolution. 250 years ago was the industrial revolution. 60 years ago is the advent of the nuclear age. 15-20 years ago is the birth of the internet.

it sure does look like we're on schedule for something.

Yea

Nothing is going to happen in 2012. I'm so tired of reading about it, why does everyone buy in on that crap?????
