The Mayans called Venus Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent. The morning star (and also the evening star) Venus was also associated with Lucifer, known to the Greeks as Phosphorus- the patron saint of knowledge, evolution and free will. The Earth and Venus are sister planets that share a phase locked orbital cycle.
