Still Surface

The deep turning slowed
and gradually became a shallow ripple
momentum carried on boundless seas
there was no end to this
the observant view became as one distant
- separated by knowledge and memory - time and space
stillness endured
the once great abyss now dissipated
all turbulence gone, all churning exhausted
a chorus sounded in the fizz and pop of each atom near the surface - each released one form then bound to another- light and airy, fast and full of fire, still and in cool water jade green and blue...
the vast sea now gleamed
mercurial
still, reflective
infinitely mixed and remixing
in the center of this stillness
I came upon a shore...
