Getting Out Of The Way

A very large obstacle to living a positive and expansive existence is one's self, the small self, the ego. The ego positions itself as all knowing, and benevolent. It's watching out for you, making everything about you. But in all truth it is really just getting in the way. When you sit in meditation and become conscious of your true, expansive state of being, the ego is naturally sort of swept aside. It doesn't like it, but there is nothing it can do. The ego crumbles under the weight of the truth.
In my life I've noticed that the more I chant and sing mantras, and the more that I just sit in silence, the easier things become. There is flow in my life that never quite existed before. I take things less personally, and just see them for what they are -- another illusion. With this new-found and more persistent perspective I've adopted I find it easier to let go of things, people and relationships which only held me back from flowering in to my fullest potential. It wasn't easy at first, but very few things that are this powerful are easy, they require at least a little bit of work.
Synchronicity is a term which is tossed around a lot amongst evolvers and a great deal of the New Age crowd, and it can be a powerful concept. Synchronicity, to me, is the natural functioning state of the universe, it is another word for divine providence. The more we get out of the way of ourselves, the more we open up the opportunity for the divine grace of the universe to touch everything in our lives.
It takes strength to surrender to the truth. It is a shame that our society at large looks at the act of surrender as a manifestation of weakness. Yet as we surrender to the truth we see synchronicity between our thoughts, our dreams, our relationships and our actions. And so with a little patience and self love we can let ourselves let go of our need to control everything and let a little more abundance flow in to our lives effortlessly.
Shanti my brothers and sisters!
