New World Water

As I sit here on a chilly autumn morning listening to Mos Def's song "New World Water" I am reminded of yet another issue which is pressing on the happiness and well-being of the world's population. WATER!

We all, at least sometimes, take for granted the ease with which we are able to get fresh water to drink. Not only do we have fresh, safe water to drink, we have so much of it sitting in plastic and glass bottles filling up our deli coolers all over the developed world. How did it get to the point that we hoard water? Are we nothing but large chipmunks with opposoble thumbs? Or is it just greed/fear? Conflicts rage over peoples' access to water in Africa, as sea levels rise some small islands' fresh water supplies have been inundated, and therefore contaminated, by salt water. Our own water supplies have been polluted by our own bodily waste which is contaminated with all of the pharmaceutical concoctions we've been tricked in to thinking will "cure" us, and the list goes on and on.
But one thing is for sure, people are becoming more aware everyday. I see people everywhere with their re-fillable water bottles, refusing to buy bottled water, refusing to contribute to the excessive waste which is so prevalent in our culture. No longer is being aware and environmentally conscious being "out-there." We still have a long way to go though, but positivity seems to build on itself exponentially, and caring for the well being of other people around the world is about as positive as one can get, even if you might become temporarily disillusioned. I myself have fallen in to this state many times, but I always remember.

I always remember the absolute power of positivy and love, and it brings me back home to the tranquility which is my true nature.

Cheers to Water, life giving, thirst quenching and scrumptious beyond belief!

its not us hoarding

the corporations took over the water game, yes, they are chipmunks of a sort, if chipmunks were bent on world domination

Touche, sir. I've seen some

Touche, sir. I've seen some pretty manic chipmunks in the past, who looked hell bent on getting all the nuts before other chipmunks could make their stash for winter...

3 Cheers! & >3 full hours of collected tears and cheers!

Flow - For the Love of Water(1:23:32) is another of the must-see genre of truth-out videos that goes deep into the gory details of the water dominance game.

But hand-in-hand goes my favorite evolver link ever, APA- The Mystery of Water (1:20:02). Caution: If you haven't watched this film yet, it could blow your mind.

And no discussion of water and what we can do with it would be complete without mentioning Raymon Grace.

From my research thus far, rain collection and slow-sand filtration seem like the easiest, plus cheapest, plus most holistic solutions to implement on the physical level.

While flowforms and vortices a la Viktor Schauberger are a little more elusive on the higher levels.

(Can you tell that this 2-legged dolphin incarnate is a huge fan of water?)

Thank you brother river, I did not expect such a wealth of mind-boggling media on water, I look forward to watching these movies and digging a bit deeper. Also, I recall that you are an advanced alien-guard architect, I thought you might be interested that I'm building a tree house in what has always felt to me like a very divine place, and to bring things full circle I intend to install my very own water-catchment system. The slow-sand filtration? is this to make the water potable?

Hiya brother Tinh Man

Sorry I'm late! (too much info lately)

So a little creative hyperbole never hurts. I don't know if I'm truly an alien, I just feel like one sometimes. Growing up here fondly in the lost woods is no exaggeration though. And I love tree-houses! I've got a great link to share for treehouse inspirations:

And yes, Slow-sand filters are uber-cheap/easy(w/caveat)/natural filters for potable water that are reliable and low-maintenance. A microbiological layer forms on top of the sand (called the 'schmutzdecke' (lovely german word)) and this layer does most of the filtering, so it's a living filter that requires some maintenance. It's an old idea which has been used in the states as far back as the late 1800's, but more popular in europe today. Even though the ingredients are simple, the design is rather technical, and the testing to make sure it works can be expensive. I'm looking forward to rolling my own in the not too distant future!

(P.S. What does Nosdraveh mean?)

thanks

Thanks for the links, and the information. Nosdraveh means cheers in bulgarian!
