The Gift of Energy Literacy – how to make everyday decisions count towards a regeneration of our Earth.
This workshops stems out of a previous workshop called Environmental Design and Decision Making. This simple role play workshop brings the participant knowledge and justification about how the Laws of Thermodynamics work on the everyday level. The workshop provide insight into how to tame environmental destruction and provide hope for our Spaceship Earth utopia. You will walk away from this workshop with an easy and applicable tool to reverse environmental destruction and regenerate our planet.
The scientific concepts of Energy Return on Energy Invested (EROEI) and The Laws of Thermodynamics understood in tandem provide a new decision making framework. One that is simple and easy to apply at all levels of human action and activity. The resulting easy rule of thumb provides the essential base for humans to stop the destruction of nature and halt the threat posed to humans by such a reality. By understanding such concepts as Energy Cannibalism, Energy-Return-on-Energy-Invested we begin to understand how the concept of “investment” can be radically different than we imagine and have been subject to for our entire lives because of the monetary system we are all a part of.
There may be some initial discussion about sacred geometry and how it informs us how nature works. Once one understands how nature is the most efficient system, in conjunction with our ability to understand EROEI as it relates to the Laws of Thermodynamics, the final conclusion is that energy efficiency represents the highest order of community building and embodies a short hand, rule-of-thumb framework for radical change of the human condition. In short, this workshop will provide the basis for human survival in the face of drastic ecological turmoil.
The workshop is recommended for all who provide workshops to others in the area of sustainability, conservation, environmental stewardship, and radical change.
This workshop is FREE and will provide concrete examples of the principles discussed. We have a space in East Vancouver to conduct workshops for up to 12 people at a time (which will include food and socialization) or this workshop can be given anywhere at any time according to participant needs.
