The last black water dragon year was 1952, which left us with the introduction of the hydrogen bomb, the B52 bomber and smog. The founder of craigslist, Craig Newmark, was born that year and is a water dragon himself. Apparently the call to arms for this lunar new year is to reach for that “proverbial brass ring,” and “believe in six impossible things before breakfast.” We are to ready for the “unexpected,” and to real eyes our dreams. It’s time to dream big and to go beyond your wildest sense of imagination. As “mystical beings,” things are “bigger than life,” and there for our taking, as “opportunity knocks.” Dragon is associated with spring, so chances are it’s best to get a move on with things, and off to a fast start. “Life is to be grand,” if not “spectacular,” with a good chance of some crash and burns. “If you want to increase your rate of success, double your rate of failure.” And ‘tis the year to do just that, as it may be a good time to go “boom town or bust.” Water dragon years are known for “notoriously erratic outcomes,” and still are “generally fortunate.” It is a year of “transformation,” where we must traverse and navigate many a turning or “tipping point,” best served by maintaining a “calm perceptive nature.”

“Water can move any obstacle in its path without losing its essential nature, and in time can dissolve the hardest of mountains.” Ain’t no mountain high enough, nor valley low enough, to keep me away from you. The river will run in 2012, same as it ever was, and yet no matter how high, how wide, or how wild, the water dragon knows flow, and will find it’s way around or thru this. “Dams will overflow, and lands will be hydrated.” We are to watch out for floods, both emotional and otherwise. Watch that you do not overwhelm others, nor take that on yourself, as 2012 is slated to be an intense year. “Direct your energies sensibly and not recklessly.” A “restless ocean” can be symbolic of ego with emotional ebbs and backwash. “Surf’s up,” and any surfer worth his salt knows, it’s best not to be left “undergunned.” Uncertainty and unpredictability lie ahead, with both upheaval and celebration assured. See to it that your cup does not runneth over, and that when full enough, know it best not to overdo it. Get back in line and wait your turn, then take your turn. If need be, “cut your losses,” and “persevere.” Recognize your need for peace and quiet, and that best met by a calming, soft and restful retreat space. Know that black water is also blue, turquoise and azure waters. Speak softly and let your schtick do the talking.

“Love blossoms” and “lonely hearts will find their mates,” no matter how “fleeting” the romance. Life will be anything but dull and give us many a chance to “resolve old issues and build strong new foundation.” To get money flowing, “remove clutter.” Do an early spring cleanse, and a thorough deep cleaning. “Move things that haven’t been moved,” and clean out your nooks and crannies. Look in the mirror and polish your crystals. Erase the myth of yourself as the “untouchable.” If feeling stagnant as the lady of the lake, consider to fashion yourself as a fire and ice dragon woman. “Move some energy,” in recalling that “well behaved women rarely make history.” Recall too that “not all that glitters is gold,” and that you are “nobody’s fool.” Real eyes that there is plenty of time to “change strongly held beliefs,” and that it well to “allow others their dignity.” Be wise and slower of the tongue, and yet with the quickness. “Move things forward to garner luck.” Keep up with your karma yoga, not treating others as pawns in biz, nor being greedy, as the “poor stand to become richer,” and the rich a little longer in the tooth. There is “no payoff in being lazy” with things, as “money, success and power” are keen to the dragon. Get your dragon, poker or game face on, as not unlike with the hierophant, trials and tribulations loom. There is “reason for optimism,” as the dragon is “messenger of balance and magic,” wherefrom creativity comes forth, and of which affords us “worlds of mystery and wonder.”

Dragon is one with the life force and “cosmic chi,” a firebrand able to harness a “primordial power” and “breath” of a most “potent” medicine and “vitality.” Owner of “restorative powers,” he “stokes the fire of our (dragon) hearts.” Dragon is tapped into the most “primal force in nature,” employer of positive destruction, “creator and destroyer” in one. Be univisceral and a “lifegiver.” Employ of your “supernatural” power in exploring the less obvious and more subtle realms intrinsic to your “internal process.” Engage “honestly, courageously and with the strength of the peaceful warrior,” as you work to be “master of all the elements (within your) nature.” Be the “see” dragon and “meditate on these qualities.” You are “water to our parched lands,” as we remain “starved for emotional sustenance.” As we tread at our “emotional high water mark,” and with “rising tides,” we look to you for “leadership” and the good use of your “fiery energy.” The dragon is masterful as guide and as cross cultural guardian. Like the giraffe, the dragon can see on high, and of approaching danger from afar. The black dragon is symbolic of the unknown, and fears not of the darkness. In turn, we ask of you to “see more clearly,” and to “see the bigger picture,” of which is a “big achievement,” and may well further your “career, reputation and fame.” We wish for dragon’s “health, happiness and good fortune,” and marvel at such “fortitude,” which affords you such “intelligence and enlightenment.” And whether euro or of the Orient, benevolent or malevolent, and with wings or without, we too dream to “fly with the dragon,” well knowing that “the excess of the principle destroys itself,” even as the “road to excess leads to the palace of wisdom,” and that “absolute power corrupts.” We seek out your likeness, if not your Loch Ness, in sensing that the power and wisdom of the dragon are ours to befriend once upon this 2012.
