Today we will celebrate and walk through the new Golden Door that opens for us whenever we need renewal, allowing one cycle to end and a new cycle to begin.
Ground and open up to this ceremonial work today.
Get grounded by sitting in a comfortable position, preferably on the floor (on a cushion) or on a straight backed chair if you can’t manage that. You want to have your spine erect (or supported) so that you remain fully alert, but you also need to be comfortable and relaxed enough to remain in this position for up to 30 minutes. Make sure that you are in a space where you will either be supported in this ritual or where you can remain alone and undisturbed during that time.
We will begin by surrendering to the unknown.
Once we fully surrender to the unknown we can fully align ourselves with that higher sense of renewal - - that death and rebirth that comes with spring.
We offer sage to purify and release any energies that do not serve us - that symbolize the old cycle that we are bringing to a close.
Breathe into the closing. This is everything from a physical and energetic closing to the releasing of mental patterns and emotional ways of being.
This is the shedding of the old skin. Take a look at yourself and observe what you are letting go.
Take a few breaths. Take whatever you are putting behind you and in your mind’s eye, send it into the earth so that the new can come forth.
The image of the shoes is very symbolic. Old shoes represent both your physical and spiritual walk of the past. The wearing of new shoes represents walking a new walk.
Scan your wardrobe, with the help of your inner eye, and allow whatever shoes that come up (one or two pairs) to become clearly visible in your mind.
What elements of your old walk do these shoes represent to you? How have they served you? What are they asking you to release.
Commit in that moment, to having a give-away within that week where you physically let go of those shoes.
In your give-away ceremony, you will need to wrap your shoes cloth (red would be the traditional Native American ceremonial color – but you could alternatively pick an old garment from your wardrobe – another symbol of your past – cut it up and wrap the shoes in that cloth.)
Definitely not to give them away to someone else because they are old, and symbolize this end of a way of walking in this world and you don’t want to pass them on to someone else.
Instead – offer them to the garbage for disposable care – with a prayer of gratitude for the way they have served you in the past and a prayer of intention for walking your new walk.
Know that when we give something away -it doesn’t matter whether we give it away or throw it away - then something new comes into our lives.
So the giving away of the shoes – represents symbolically the walking of a new walk.
So I’d like to take you on a journey of opening this golden gate of the East which symbolizes your new walk – walking barefoot and then owning a new pair of shoes that will be given to you.
In the journey they will be given to you very symbolically with medicine and perhaps you are destined to buy a new pair too to symbolize that on the physical plane.
So the teaching is why hold on to something that is a part of our life that we are ready to let go of. We tend to hold on to things saying “Oh. We’ll wear it at some point. Or we’ll use it at some point.” Then our closets and our desks start to pile up. And when things start to pile up, then the clutter begins to pile up inside.
So you have a physical clutter in the body. Then you have your outer clutter which is your closet or desk. Spring is all about the letting go - hence the phrase “spring cleaning.”
So gift yourself this physical offering that you ceremonially will be doing as a practice of letting go.
That is key - that as a reader when you read something, it’s really important to take action afterwards. You can read a book of wisdom but if you don’t practice it, it just stays intellectually in the mind. In that way it starts to become a living prayer, and that’s what gets passed down and it starts to become the language of your soul.
As you enter even more deeply into sacred space, in your mind’s eye, see that old pair of shoes. See them placed in a sacred circle – symbolizing the past, and how much you honor the past that has brought you to this moment.
Connect to the heart and the place of deep gratitude for the opportunity to be witnessed by your spirit guides that specifically you are calling in at this time – who you want to witness you.
Once you have verbally invoked and feel their presence then begin, in your own time, this prayer of give-away of thanking your old self for bring you to this day.
Physically say out loud a prayer of gratitude for these shoes for the amazing lesson that they’ve taught you to walk physically and symbolically.
So feel already the calling of this new walk.
So when we go into the cycle of spring – of renewal - we give birth in a whole new way. That new way symbolizes even deeper our way our call – our intention – our evolution. So the seeds that we have planted before are actually growing and we are opening the door to that growth.
Springtime is when we like an eagle fly through and embrace this beginning of a new sun.
So in this space of going into springtime I’d like you to visualize and feel and see this door – which symbolizes also your new shoes. Just get acquainted with it just notice in your body what begins to shift and change and notice what ritual action you are being called to do – to enter into this new door, this new life.
Observe the nature of the door – then enter into the celebration behind it, that represents an awakening.
Allow yourself to sit in the counsel gathered at the celebration. This is the renewal. This is the initiation. Allow yourself to be in that space, be guided, to receive tools – remembering that you are a conduit for spirit to convey the message to yourself first and foremost and then to the women of the world.
Hold the talking stick in your hand as you enter that circle so that they know that you are a messenger.
First and foremost you come to learn for your own initiation and also to pass the talking stick on from one woman to the next.
So let them pass the wisdom on to you and then after that you can begin your sharing. Turn that sharing into an affirmation for yourself.
Use that affirmation as a key for the continuous journey. Remember we are opening up this doorway for our souls and we are receiving from Spirit – from our higher selves – these ways of consciously awakening our being on both an energetic plane and then on a physical plane.
This affirmation is for each woman to find for herself – an affirmation to continue her journey and her commitment for renewal.
So as you repeat to yourself this affirmation, notice that there is yet another door that the council is opening up for you. See what that is. What is behind that door? What is the message there? Do you feel any resistance to this deeper level of calling revealed in the inner sanctum?
So that resistance that you are feeling right now – that fear has to do with your old shoes. You are going to be giving those away in the physical plane and this whole journey represents a process. So when you give away those shoes, that is when it will come full circle and this feeling will be completed.
So this resistance – this fear – as we know, always has a voice. So if we were to put music on and dance this resistance it would have a very specific movement. Find those parts of yourself that represent the movement of this and just repeat that movement energetically in your third eye. See yourself using the body to get rid of this energy. Spirit will guide you. Spirit will show you the motions – the movements – very clearly.
Once you have completed this release, just breathe into the body and notice the difference between that energy that felt distant, fragmented, old and heavy and share how that felt with your talking stick in hand.
You are able to connect the wisdom of what you’re feeling right now to the soles of your feet. Every cell, bone, joint and muscle in the soles of your feet feels like it is dancing a new dance. By holding the talking stick you are saying “Yes!” And by rooting the soles of your feet in this new cycle – you already find that the door has opened.
You feel the cycle of renewal, rejuvenation and awakening of these new seeds that you are planting. Feel the complete support that you’re getting.
When you’re ready, your elders, ancestors and guides – your support system – are all going to do a blessing for you.
Maybe each one on their own or collectively and you’re going to receive that and you are going to also receive the physical blessing of letting go of those shoes, so that this blessing can be complete in the physical plane.
Take some time to receive this blessing, and then to also be shown the ritual that you will be doing to complete this work that we have started here today.
We encourage you to buy yourself a pair of new shoes. Buy the best that you can afford, whose style most closely represents the essence of your renewal and highest intentions. Every time you put on these shoes, before you leave your house, you will be reminded of your intention.
We also encourage you – if you can – to get healthy shoes. Earth shoes are our product of the month. Check out the previous posting on the benefits of these fabulous shoes.
Please feel free to write to us or comment on what transpired for you after you completed this ritual. Also check out the posting from Eden on what transpired for her after she completed this ritual in her own life.
