Evolver Spores: The Spirit of Water

Wed, July 21

As untold gallons of oil gush into the Gulf, we are sadly reminded of that most vital ingredient to all life on Earth: water. Though it covers almost three quarters of the planet and fills nearly 70% of our own bodies, this precious and seemingly boundless substance is becoming increasingly scarce and imperiled. Reckless damming of rivers, wide-scale pollution, and corporate privatization threaten the free flow of fresh H2O for growing numbers of people around the world.

At the same time, this ephemeral element possesses magical shape-shifting powers, evaporating, condensing, freezing and melting in a flux of physical states. Water summons the lunar, feminine, and intuitive wisdom of consciousness, with our vast oceans granting us a glimmer into the enigma of how this life-giving substance came to our planet in the first place.

This month, join one of our 35 Evolver Regionals as they explore the mystery and history of H2O, the contemporary politics behind today’s “water wars,” and how we can preserve and protect this critical element for future generations. We will also be hosting a network-wide healing blessing for the Gulf Coast. We invite all those within the network to join us at 10:30pm EST/ 7:30pm PST to take part in a five minute healing blessing for the Gulf Coast.

Check the list below to find a Spore in your area. Dates may be different depending on the city. You can also email the regional host (via their group page) if you’d like to get involved in the planning of the event. If there is not yet a Spore in your community, email remi((at))evolver((dot))net to start your own.

Water: The Great Mystery

The Russian Film (english dubbed w/spanish subtitles) about the structure of water. It tells us that water has a memory in which it stores information about the surrounding sounds, chemicals and even human emotions. The memory is stored in clusters of h20 molecules that are formed when several molecules join together.

Water means life

Thank you for including this focus on water. I shall share it with the growing community of people who are recognizing that water has value including and beyond our use of it as a utility or mere resource. As someone who practices a form of aquatic bodywork (floating another in warm water), I have come to appreciate that it is the water - as much as any technique used - that is the healer. On land, too, remembering our predominantly watery make-up changes how we act. Flow and rhythm.
